I plan on making a basketball out of a paper mached balloon. So far I am not that far but I plan on finishing this in 1 and a half weeks.
In this artwork I worked on the “I developed my art making skills” studio habit of mind. I chose this as my focus because I would like to be better at paper macheing and maybe even becoming an expert on this skill.
To make this I basically blew up a balloon and started paper macheing it. I will put on a total of 3 layers to make it thick enough that it will be solid. Then once the paper mache hardens and is solid then I will mix the colors brown and white acrylic paint. This will be done to find that color of a basketball. Then I will make the lines of the basketball and hand it it once it drys. That is the process I will use.
I learned that when paper macheing a balloon you must be careful and really focus so that you don't crinkle the paper mache or mess up your project.
I would say shape/form are the most strongly used elements of art. I would say this because I used the vivid shape of a basketball and I used a circle form to make it.

This is what my Basketball looks like after 3 layers of Paper Mache.
